Teater Seachange

Theater Seachange (formerly the Second Theater) was founded in 2004 by director and dramaturg Barbara Simonsen, who is also an artistic director of Seachange Lab, a forum for practical research in performing arts.

The first theater of the Second Theater was Høredramaet Å - Å - Å!, Who played at Aarhus Theater's Studioscene in 2004 under Århus Festuges theme "Eros" - as a cheeky but humorous commentary to the provocative show XXX, which played at the theater's Great Scene .

Theater Seachanges performances combine physical theater, music and text theater. We experiment with interdisciplinary collaborations, with new ways to create and produce, and sometimes with different venues. All with the purpose of creating live theater that touches the audience on body, emotions and between the ears. It may be brittle, fun, banal, embarrassing, naive, hard and beautiful - but NEVER boring!
