This unique looking theater was build in 2005 as part of a project to rehabilitate Faro's cultural investment. It is the largest in the city and has a distinct mission to not only be a place to see performing arts, like plays, dances or concerts, but also to learn about performing arts. The theater gets it's name due to it's location, it is positioned right next to the train tracks and Ria Formosa but also the residential area of Horta das Figuras. Although its use has declined since its inception, Teatro das Figuras still hosts great shows all year to this day.
