Trøndelag Theater is Central Norway's largest cultural institution. The theater building consists of a large, modern building from 1997, and a conserved part - Old Scene - from 1816, which is integrated into the new. The old theater building is Norway's oldest and also among the oldest venues in Northern Europe. At the theater's five scenes, 10-12 plays are produced every year. Trøndelag Theater is also a well-suited guest house with frequent visits from Norwegian and foreign theater companies.
