When in Skopje and a friend tells you that he “got stuck in the office”, don’t doubt and ask him if he needs help. Probably he will, and this is what friends are for, right?

Me, living there for a while made me confident enough to predict that this friend of yours will say without waiting a second to go there in The Office and “help him” with “the heavy tasks” that he is struggling to do alone. Follow the instructions and you are welcome to visit The Bohemian Street in Skopje.

This district (probably inspired by the Skadarlija Belgrade district), is celebrating the Bohemian life here on the Balkans in the best way possible. They have amazing food, high quality Rakia, smiling, and warm people. When you enter this stone paved street on your right side you will find the first kafana called Kancelarija. Kancelarija means Office and people tend to 'over-work' more here than in the one where they’re employed. After visiting it, you will realize that you can’t blame them.

The restaurants that are placed in the bohemian district are chosen to be there. Really chosen. Entering this street is like entering the grand finale of the best kafanas in Skopje. Whatever you choose, your choice will be right.

As a workaholic, I like mostly stopping in kafana called Kancelarija in ‘’the Office’’. Don’t skip trying Uvijac, Rakia, and Shopska, so you can introduce yourself to the table. Very often, during the nights, you will have the opportunity to celebrate with live music. ‘’Celebrate what?’’ you would say. Celebrate life! That’s what a decent kafana will teach you; to say cheers to life!
