In the previous article I showed you an educational centre in Somerset, that uses expert guides and instructors to really show off the very best of the natural environment in the UK, as well as a water-based activity centre in the Lake District. This article will show you two more exciting adventure centres that will introduce you to new activities, push you to the edges of your comfort zone, and then beyond!

Whithaugh Park in the Scottish wilderness

Whithaugh Park is in the perfect location, just 40 minutes away from a central Scottish motorway, but absolutely isolated and in the middle of the stunning natural beauty that Scotland is renowned for. This is a really immersive camp, that prides itself on being on the cutting edge of adventure activities in the UK. At the centre, you can try some of the best mountain biking trails in the UK, as well as a bike skills course designed to push, challenge and teach you. They can accommodate almost 200 people, but also work with as small groups as you want, and personalise every course to the needs and wants of their visitors.

They have a fairly scary 300 metre long zip wire that is suspended high off the ground, as well as around 30 different guided activities. They run night woodland hikes, map reading and orienteering races, bushcraft, gorge walking and many more. Every type of group could come here and have an amazing time!

Adventures Outdoor Activity Centre - Wales

This is an activity centre by the sea, and this opens up a whole new range of things to do, and places to explore. The Adventures Outdoor Activity Centre is probably better suited for older visitors, as the experiences you can find here are a bit more extreme and dangerous than the others in the list. Things like paint balling, surfing, ATV driving and coastal cliff climbing are on the itinerary, and are not for the faint-hearted.

One of the highlights of the centre is the Coasteering Course, where you can explore the wild and beautiful coastline of Wales, and go from jumping off cliffs, to climbing up rocky slopes and swimming into ocean caves, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If the water is not your favourite place to learn about yourself, they also have ATV driving courses and places to play with these fast and fun vehicles, and outdoor laser tag, which is fantastically fun, or paintball fights (which is similar but more painful, and with a bit more adrenaline!)
