Queen's Beach & King's Beach - the former Royal paradise

Wonderful Montenegrin coast has numerous incredible places, hidden beaches, unexplored areas, as well as popular spots that attracts a lot of tourists. If you search for the most beautiful ones, you will come across Kraljičina beach (Queen’s Beach) and Miločer or King's Beach, both close to the Island of St Stefan. The nature around these beaches is just unbelievable: densed forests, a beautiful park, crystal clear sea and whitish sand. It is understandable why this is the former Royal paradise.

Queen's Beach

There is a valid reason why the beach is called like this. Queen Marija Karađorđević, the wife of King Alexander, known as Maria of Yugoslavia, liked spending her time here in the summer villa of Karađorđević family ‘’Villa Miločer’’, so this is why the beach is called Queen's beach.

The beach itself is almost always under the shade of cypresses and olive trees. It is surrounded by the white rocks from two sides, which makes you feel like you are on an isolated island. Actually, the beach is accessible by boat only.

Villa Miločer & King's Beach

Close to Queen's beach, there is "Villa Miločer" with King's beach in front of it. Former summer residence of Karađorđević family, and later of Yugoslavia's leader Josip Broz Tito, is now a luxury hotel of the Amman Resort Montenegro. Grandiose rooms inside the villa, of which some have an incredible sea view, are decorated with the same grandiose furnitures and royal details.

King's beach is reserved for the guests of the hotel, but anyone willing to pay the entrance ticket can spend a day here. From here, through the Miločer Park, it takes only a few minutes to reach the St Stefan Island.

Park Miločer

Located in the close vicinity of King's beach, Miločer park is one more place worth visiting. It is full of rare plant species, that sailors brought from around the world, so it represents a real natural exhibit.

The whole area around these two beaches still looks like a royal destination. I like coming here when the sun is setting down. I find a comfortable place to sit - on grass, on sand or somewhere along the white rocks, drink some wine and enjoy the colorful sunset. When the stars start showing up, I take a walk around the park and then to the St Stefan Island. When the street lights turn on, it is very romantic around here.

Even though a lot of happenings here are closed for the public, that should not be something that prevents you from visting this place. When you check it out, it will be obvious to you too, why exactly here is the former Royal paradise.
