For the sixth time, the popular extreme sports event takes place in this "16000 inhabitants" town. It offers probably one of the most impressive spectacles for the athletes, as well as for the audience; In fact that’s the reason why Polignano a Mare was chosen for the big finale and the award ceremony of the "World Cliff Diving Series". The athletes get through a private living room to a 27 and a 21-meter-high platform and jump into the blue waters of the Adria.
Thousand of visitors are coming every year to the small south-Italian town to watch the extraordinary event and soak up the unique atmosphere of Polignano. Many of the houses of the historical center are built directly on the cliffs and the pretty beach of the town is the perfect viewpoint for watching the daring stunts of the Red Bull Cliff Divers.

In case you have rented a car, Polignano is just a 30-minute highway drive from the biggest Apulian city, Bari. In addition, the national train service Trenitalia, offers a train (almost every 30 minutes) from Bari to Polignano a mare, for only 2,50 €.
If you fancy something calm and romantic after an action loaded day, don’t miss out on dining in one of the most spectacular restaurants in the world, the Grotta Palazzese. The unique location of this cave restaurant is truly breathtaking and definitely a bucket-list spot.
If you come to Apulia to be part of this unique event you might as well want to take a few more days off, to explore the architectural diversity, authenticity and food culture this region has to offer.
