I love being able to enjoy the Mediterranean warm and clear waters, and having the sea in Valencia, the city where I currently live, clearly makes life more beautiful and enjoyable. Valencia offers its people plenty of long sandy beaches where you can relax while sunbathing. But if you are keen on finding unspoiled bays, with turquoise and crystal-clear water so you can practice different underwater sports and get to see life under the sea, let me tell you about one of the most beautiful coastal seabeds in the Valencian Community: the coast of Javea

Javea is located in the province of Alicante, a short drive from Valencia (1h and 30 minutes’ drive approximately). The coastal seabed of Javea (Xàbia in Valenciano) is considered one of the richest and most valuable enclaves of the Region of Valencia, and its water has attracted the interests of tons of different social groups. In my opinion, this beautiful coast is the perfect place for going scuba diving or snorkeling, due to the warm temperature and the excellent quality of the water!

The seabed in Javea is a fair reflection of the varied topography of its coastline, where you find plenty of amazing cliffs, rocks, islands, beaches, coves. All these, together with the high quality and transparency of its waters, make this point of the Mediterranean Sea an excellent place to practice scuba diving with bottles.  A few days ago, I had the opportunity to go scuba diving in Javea for the first time, and I recommend this experience to those who are fond of feeling new sensations and enjoy spending time under the water

You will find plenty of different diving centers in Javea town, which also offer their clients other types of water sports, like snorkeling. There is also a wide range of different diving spots in Jávea, and your dive instructors will decide what place is best suited for you, taking into account the weather and the sea state. Amongst these places, there are many cliffs,  such as the one of the Cap de Sant Antoni in the transparent waters of La Granadella and many more.

Cabo de San Martín

I scuba-dived for the first time with an excellent company called Revolution Dive. It has three dive centers located in the province of Alicante: one in Benidorm, one in Altea, and one in Jávea. Our instructors took us to a perfect dive spot that is located just behind the Cabo de San Martín, in a nook that is protected from the north winds and is perfect for beginners since the descent is only 6 meters deep. It is also an ideal place to practice snorkel. If you are experienced in diving, from there, you can go to the actual Cabo de San Martín, where you can reach the maximum depth (-22 meters). While there, it is usual to find lobsters, banks of breams, and castanets. Among the rocks, there are many spirographs and sponges, to the delight of photographers.

In other words, the Javea coastline and its seabeds and waters are genuinely full of beauty and life. Being able to experience it is something I recommend 100%!
