History

Shipa Su Sanatorium is situated on the territory of Saryagash Resort, and it has a 70-year-old history. Shortly, in 1946, during the search for an oil drilling site, there was a water source found with a temperature of up to 51 degrees. After many investigations, it was found out that this water has a healing capacity and is profitable to be used as a treatment for the prevention of various diseases and ailments. In 1954, there were some 75 beds opened in a small residential pavilion. Ultimately, on March 1, 1959, the first brick of the big construction of Saryagash healing resort was set by Dinmukhamed Kunayev. Since then, many sanatoriums were developed in its zone, including Shipa Su Sanatorium

What else to do in the area

The Saryagash Resort's territory is set with small bazaars and bicycles for rent. From time to time, at the reception area, you will meet excursion guides who can take you on tour to the holy places of Southern Kazakhstan, such as the Mausoleum of Khoja Akhmet Yasawi and Arystan Bab Mausoleum, as well as the sightseeing of Turkestan city. The tour will cost you approximately 7000 tenges per person for the whole trip. Before going on to such kind of excursion, please make sure that you will be provided with the translator or ask for options. Also, the tour does not include the meals, in which case you are recommended to bring your own snacks and drinks
