Dusko Radovic, one of the most famous Serbian children's writer, poet, journalist, aphorist and TV editor stated: “The one who has been fortunate enough to wake up this morning in Belgrade, can consider that he has achieved enough in his life for today. Any further insistence on something else would be immodest. " And that is exactly how I felt a few weeks ago, when visiting my parents for the Easter holiday. Visiting Belgrade in Spring is undoubtedly the best time to enjoy this Serbian capital. If you wonder why, check out all the charms of Belgrade in April. But there is something else to that – food! If you are a foodie, who loves exploring new places to eat and satisfy all your tastes, then you are reading the right article. Gladni Vuk Restaurant

The moment I woke up on a sunny Belgrade morning, I knew that my father would not wait even for the breakfast (in my case my precious morning coffee ritual) to tell me all about our lunch plans. This time, he came  with a frown on his face, realizing that we have never been together to his favorite place in Zemun that has the best barbecue in Belgrade. “They have the most delicious cevapi and pljeskavica, the one filled with cheese that you love. We can go there earlier, enjoy a drink in the sun and then have a nice, long lunch and a coffee. Gladni Vuk has the most comfortable chairs as well, and we can hang out at the sun and have a chill afternoon!”, my father started. As I was sipping my morning coffee, I could not tell him no even if I wanted to. I really wanted to see what this fascination was all about. But then he said something that bought me completely. “They have the best pancakes with forest fruits and vanilla ice-cream!” “When shall I be ready?”, I responded as fast as I could.

The moment we arrived at Gladni Vuk Restaurant I realized my father was not exaggerating, not even a bit. The beautiful, sunny outdoor area with comfortable chairs and sofas and smiley staff was already a great start. Let me get to the best part – I ate the most delicious, decadent and filling pljeskavica with cheese. In case you are not a fan of cheese, you can pick an option with onions and peppers on the side. The lovely staff did me a huge favor and adjusted the size of the portion from 400gr to 200gr so that I could feel that satisfaction of finishing my meal. In case you do not eat red meat, there are great grilled chicken and veggies option which will definitely make you super full.

Moreover, I warn you not to make the same mistake and overeat on the main course like I did. Because Gladni Vuk pancakes are a must! I simply could not resist and leave the restaurant without trying them. Those decadent pancakes, beautifully decorated with forest fruits and filled with ice cream will make your day. Upon one gentle touch of a fork, they will completely spread all over your plate.

That day I was happy simply to wake up on a sunny, spring day in Belgrade. If I could, I would repeat it all over again. But not without the most amazing and definitely memorable Gladni Vuk Restaurant in Zemun.
