On the 31st of December Old Town in Vienna turns into huge party venue. Along traditional 28th Silvesterpfad (New Year's Eve Trail) the party people can greet the year 2018 at eleven different locations. This year the Vienna Prater and Seestadt Aspern also join in the New Year’s Eve Trail. Overall, these outdoor locations and stages offer music program, pop, rock, DJ lines, attractive shows, and entertainment program, that you can enjoy along with the delicacy from 70 different restaurants. Area around Graben transforms into ball-room and is reserved for people who prefer classical music, operettas, and waltzes. Some Vienna's dance schools offer crash waltz dancing courses here during the afternoon.

The program starts at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and lasts until 2 following morning. At the Rathausplatz the biggest stage is located and here you can enjoy the music from different bands and DJs. Highlight of the celebration is spectacular firework at midnight at the main square in front of the City Hall and the University Ring followed by The Blue Danube waltz.

The next day at the City Hall Square you can follow live on a big screen New Year’s Concert performed at the Musikverein by the Vienna Philharmonic's. This could be ideal option for curing the hangover.
