In this article, I will present you the Lakes of Shatsk, a true no filter beauty. This place is situated on the territory of Shatskyi administrative district of Volynska Oblast, 160 km north-west from Lutsk city (administrative center of Volynska Oblast), on the border with Belarus.

The hidden gems of Volyn region

The Lakes of Shatsk is a gorgeous natural complex that consists of 24 different sized lakes. The Shatsk National Nature Park was founded in 1983 to serve and preserve its beauty. Its surface spans over more than 32 500 hectares. The first violin of this nature orchestra is the Svityaz Lake, which is the largest lake in Ukraine. The total length of its coastline is 30 km. The complex of the Lakes of Shatsk is a great aquatic organism, and all lakes are connected by channels. They are unique spots with crystal clear water and pure nature. Not only you will be able to rest here with your family, but you could also get an extra wellness treatment. The water in some lakes is full of glycerin and silver micro-elements. 

The vacations on the Lakes of Shatsk

The pure nature of this location attracts a lot of tourists. On the Lakes of Shatsk, you won’t find any luxury hotels or resorts, any spa or any other touristic element, but only simple Ukrainian villages and its locals. You can book a small private house for your vacations, or rent an apartment from the locals. Such an apartment will cost you only 10 $ for one night. But if you want to feel and see a real no filter beauty, I will advise you to stay at the campsite located by the lake. There you can find a lot of people in their tents and feel like a part of nature. 

The uniqueness of this complex of lakes lies in the fact that it's also a vast natural reserve. Resting on the shore of these beautiful lakes, you can spot some unique birds such as eagles, swans and wild geese. The fish fauna is also diverse with more than 29 species of fish.
