Georgia is one of the best destinations for nature lovers. While visiting my country, you can unveil many hidden gems of nature. You have probably already checked some of my stories about the miraculous nature. In this article, I am going to present you the first part of the series on the most beautiful waterfalls in Georgia.

Legvtakhevi waterfall

The Legvtakhevi Waterfall is located in the old district of Tbilisi, near the sulfur baths. Above it, there is a botanical garden where the Tsavkisi River creates several small waterfalls, after which it flows into the Legvtakhevi Gorge. In the end, it connects to the Mtkvari River. This 22-meter-high waterfall is very beautiful, especially in summer, where you can escape hot days, right in the heart of Tbilisi and cool down a bit. But if you have more time, make sure to visit other amazing waterfalls spread all around Georgia.

Oniore Waterfall and Toba Cave

The Oniore Waterfall is located in the Samegrelo Region, in a small village near the city of Martvili. The complex consists of the Toba Cave and an underground river that creates the 67-meter-high waterfall. A small touristic trail will lead you to this waterfall, where you can enjoy the amazing views of nature. If you decide to spend more time in Martvili, you can also visit the second waterfall that is located nearby.

Abasha Waterfall

The 40-meter-high Abasha Waterfall is created from the left tributary of the Abasha River. It takes around 1 hour to reach this waterfall by foot. Apart from the fantastic views of the waterfall, you can also enjoy the Colchis Forest that will make you feel like you are in a fairy tale.

Makhuntseti Waterfall

The next waterfall will take you to the Adjara Region. The Makhuntseti Waterfall is located 30 kilometers from the city of Batumi. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Georgia, which is 50 meters high. At the end, it creates a large pool where visitors can swim. This place attracts many tourists. You can have a picnic in nature or choose one of the restaurants that are located nearby and taste delicious Georgian dishes. Near the waterfall, there is another interesting destination that is called the bridge of King Tamar, also known as the Makhuntseti Bridge.

Okatse Waterfall

The Okatse Waterfall offers you a fascinating experience. It is located in the Okatse Canyon, near the village Kinchkha. It will take you around 25 minutes to reach the waterfall but believe me you will want to stop at every step to take a picture of the splendid views of the Okatse Canyon. The arrival makes you feel that you are in the sky, above the clouds. Once you reach 70-meter-high waterfall, you will not want to leave this heavenly place as long as possible.

This is not even close to be a full list of the most beautiful waterfalls in Georgia, as it is a country full of breathtaking places in the heart of nature. Once you are in Georgia, make sure that you visit at least some of them. Also, check my next article, where I am going to continue the list of the top waterfalls in Georgia.
