Anigh Castle

The village of Anigh is located 27 km from the centre of the district, on the right bank of the Qusarchai River. Sometimes it is also called the Anigh Valley. In this strategically important village the castle was built in order to protect it from the Arab's occupation. The Castle is located at the foothills of Shahdag Mountain, 1100 meters above the sea level. To provide a better defence of the castle, its architect has successfully used all the features of the land's relief. There are two fragments of the castle left to this day. The first one is a wall that 15-16 meters long, and the second is the cornerstone of the tower gates. The width of the wall is 2 meters, and the diameter of the tower is about 6 meters. The height of the remains of the castle reaches 5,8-9,3 meters. The ancient fortress was built out of the rock fragments and river stones.

In the Qusar village, there is a cosy place called "Chateau Qusar" which can be a choice for the family vacationers. The construction of the complex resembles a fairytale castle, spreading among the mountains and trees. The distance between the "Chateau Qusar" and the ski resort "Shahdag" is 20 km.
