As a cosmopolitan city with a lot of trending districts full of students, Hamburg provides a bunch of great restaurants and cafés that offer incredibly tasty food that will even thrill those, who are "omnivores". Here’s a vegan guide through Hamburg, presenting insider tips about the best vegan restaurants, and cafés!
La Monella is not only a fabulous Italian restaurant, but also purely vegetarian. It offers an exclusive menu with traditional dishes, antipasti and seasonally changing specialties with creative Mediterranean compositions. In addition to the exquisite taste of the food, the small restaurant also provides a beautiful and cosy atmosphere. Good to Know: All meals – including the cheesy pizzas, pastas and risottos – can be done vegan on request.
The vegan Asian cuisine resigns animal products just as glutamate and offers food of high quality and delicious dishes with healthy ingredients. Good to Know: The wide selection even includes vegan seafood and meat substitutes.
Since 1976, Tassajara has been one of the most successful vegetarian restaurants in Germany. The international, vegetarian specialties are original and diverse. In this cute café you get the probably biggest vegan breakfast plate in Hamburg. For a fair price you get a large plate with a selection of marinated grilled tofu, a small side salad, sliced fruits, homemade jam, two homemade spreads and grilled vegetables. Additionally you get a breadbasket with warm rye bread, ciabatta and wholegrain carrot bread. After the breakfast time you can enjoy vegan paninis, apple crumbles and cakes. Good to Know: Café Latte is also known for their delicious coffee that's being roasted in the best coffee roasting facilities in Hamburg.
At Café Miller you can enjoy a delightful vegan breakfast in a very relaxed atmosphere for which the district St. Pauli is known for. The cute café offes a choice of four different types of vegan breakfast: classic, english, sweet and savoury. Good to Know: Café Miller is also the perfect place to enjoy a soccer game on one of their big screens.
In this alternative café you can enjoy fair trade coffee and an excellent vegan breakfast: The wholegrain bread and pumpernickel come with a richly filled plate full of cold cuts, sweet and savoury spreads and fruits. Good to Know: Café Stark has a beautiful interior design with vintage sofas and urban décor. Definetly a hotspot for began foodies!
