Waterfall of Love, a hidden gem in Georgia

I guess everybody, who had a chance to read my articles, knows that Georgia is famous not only for its nature, wine and hospitality but also for interesting stories, myths, and legends. In this article, I will tell you about one more hidden gem in Georgia - the beautiful Waterfall of Love, and also about an interesting legend that is connected to this heart-shaped waterfall. 

The Racha Region

The Waterfall of Love is located in the Historical Region of Racha. It is one of the most attractive mountainous regions in Georgia. There are so many nice places which you can see in Racha, that even three days might not be enough to visit them all. While being in this region, you feel that the time has stopped, and all you see is beautiful nature, over which the time has no power. The Waterfall of Love is near the Ambrolauri city and is hidden in nature. 

A legend of the Waterfall of Love

A legend of the Waterfall of Love tells that there was one Rachvelian man who had five single daughters. He was worried about their future very much. One night, he had a dream about the waterfall and a sheep standing close to it. In Georgia, people believe that, if you see a sheep in your dreams, it means that God wants to tell you something. That is why the sheep is associated with God. It seemed to him that God gave him a sign. He had to go to the place from his dream to blow his worries away. The next day, he took his daughters to this place and together with the wine. 

They saw that the waterfall had a lovely shape of the heart. All of them were having fun under the waterfall, and their father was inviting everyone, who was passing through this place, to drink the wine with him. This man and his daughters spent the day very joyfully and, by the evening, they returned home. After this day, in the same year, his dream came true, and all of his daughters got happily married. That is why the waterfall was named the Waterfall of Love. 

Just believe in a miracle

Nowadays, there is a strong belief that every single person who will visit this place will be happily married soon. That is why the Waterfall of Love became very famous, especially for single people. In the last years, more and more tourists came to Racha to see this place. Some of them just want to see its beauty, while the others have a faith that they will find true love.

I think that there is some truth behind every legend or myth. So, if you believe that when you really want something with the whole heart, your dream eventually will come true, do not miss this place.
