The Ohrid citizen from the XIX century build on one side an apartment for his family, and on the other, in the same house, he created conditions for social living. In line with this program and the development of the Ohrid high house in the organization, we will easily notice a vertical categorical division of three functional groups: Service, living and representative part. According to this division, we can expect every traditional housing to be built in three levels in vertical growth since the terrain is not flat and land for building is a small area. This fact will contribute to very characteristic and iconic shape of Ohrid house. The characteristic house is the composition of three cubes one on top of each other, where higher level is gradually growing. Naturally, the bottom cube is made out of stones and upper levels, to reduce the weight is made of wooden construction.

According to this, each house is rich in modifications, dictated by the shape and the condition of the construction site, by the economic strength of the owner, by his profession and by many others.

The Robevci House in Ohrid is considered one of the most representative objects of the city architecture in Macedonia, which its highest development reaches during the XIX century. Today is a protected cultural monument under the care of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments and the National Museum in Ohrid and today it houses the Archaeological Museum, the ethnological exhibition, the fund of items from the Robevci family and the works of the Ohrid Carving School.

This kind of houses, in some areas of the old town, are creating tunnels over the narrow streets. It is like a movie set! Beautiful, beautiful movie!
