Stockholm is becoming a favorite city for vegans and vegetarians. Its vibrant food scene now includes several up and coming restaurants and cafés specializing in vegan and vegetarian food.

Being a vegetarian or vegan eating out can be horrible. Most plant-based eaters have probably ordered the vegetarian option of the day and been served a sad-looking overprices salad. But in Stockholm, the trend is going the opposite way. Plant-based food is the new black, and new vegetarian and vegan concepts are popping up everywhere in town.

Breakfast, brunch or lunch

There is an endless amount of coffee shops and cafés in Stockholm. Swedes love their fika! During the last years, several new establishments with a vegetarian or vegan kitchen have started. A favorite is Mahalo, that serves gorgeous smoothie bowls, salads, wraps and cakes. The interior is colorful – as the food!

Pom and Flora is the perfect place for breakfast, brunch or lunch! Often busy and sometimes with a waiting list during the weekends, the café serves everything from fruity bowls to exciting new takes on a simple avocado sandwich.

The restaurant Sally Voltaire och Systrar serves healthy, yummy and gorgeous looking food. Raw salads, veggie curries and sandwiches are served from lunch to evening. Also a perfect take away meal if you are taking a train, as the restaurant is located close to the train station.

Fast and easy

Taku-Taku opened up its doors not so long ago, and it got popular fast! The concept of vegan street food serving everything from tacos to spring rolls was a winning combo in the eyes of the vegans in Stockholm.

Falafelbaren opened up its doors a couple of years back, and it has been popular from the start! Serving, as the name gives away, falafel in different shapes and sizes and everything is very good!

Dirty Vegan is a newcomer in town. The restaurant serves vegan fast food with a zero food waste concept. Get your burger, tacos or other cravings settled here! Perfect if you are craving for some vegan burgers, or maybe a sloppy joe or two?

Fine Dining

Restaurant Farang serves authentic Thai food. The establishment in Stockholm is run by a Finish duo and even though the menu includes fish, the restaurant is very popular among vegetarians due to the diverse selection.

There are plenty of more options all around the city. So, no matter if you are craving a vegan brunch or a burger, Stockholm is the place to be!
