As you know, Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the River “Mtkvari”, founded in the 5th century and located on the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

The elevation of the city ranges from 380-770 meters above sea level (1250-2530 ft.) and has the shape of an amphitheatre surrounded by the mountains. Tbilisi has a humid, subtropical climate with considerable continental influences.

Lisi Lake is a small lake in the vicinity of Tbilisi, which belongs to the Kura River valley. It is a nice place for runners. Majority of our visitors choose Lisi or Turtle Lake to prepare for any running competition that is held in Georgia.

A climate of Georgia makes running even more enjoyable. Our country is very sunny as from 365 days around 300 days are warm and sunny.

World Run and preparation…

For the last few years, Georgia is also taking part in the charity marathon “Wings for Life, World Run” – I guess you have heard about this worldwide marathon that is held in many countries at the same time. Because of marathon’s unique format, anybody can take part in it - sportsmen, volunteers and even disabled people. “World Run” in Georgia – it means not only running but also, unforgettable emotions with the breathtaking views of nature. This project inspires more and more people every year.

The start point is in Kakheti Region, on beautiful Lopota Lake. The participants have to run 10 kilometres in the nature that is very green and nice in spring and summer. Many runners from different countries visit Georgia to take part in the marathon in Kakheti. On the way, you can see Alazani Valley views, historical and cultural monuments and of course, you can enjoy the hospitality of Kakhetian people. These are the main things that attract participants to run exactly in Georgia. So you will not regret if you plan your next “World Run” in Georgia.

You can exercise and prepare for the marathon on Lopota Lake as well. This place is also perfect for those who are seeking a peaceful place to relax. It is a just 2-hour drive from Tbilisi. They have a cozy wine cellar on Lopota Lake where you can taste the most delightful wines of Georgia. Also, you can enjoy with quad bikes that are for the extreme lovers, outdoor cinema, horse riding and many more.
