If you ever thought that Greece is a destination only worth-visiting during summertime, well, I’m here with this series of pages to prove you definitely wrong.

Idyllic “White” landscapes, ski-resorts, picturesque mountainous villages, natural winter pools, mystical and mythological caves, hidden winter gems and generally extremely beautiful destinations are about to be presented, so stay tuned!

As promised in part 6, I am now back with my final piece to present a few alternative winter escapes in Greece that await to be discovered and that would definitely steal your heart!

Part 7. It’s spa time; Thermal & natural springs

Well, as you can decipher from the title, it was about time to finish this series with some relaxing and revitalising suggestions. Get ready to get rid of your daily stress, to forget about any type of anxiety that you ever had and to relax in some of the best natural and therapeutic springs that can be found all over Greece.

What is the best timing to visit those natural springs? Well, I’d definitely say during winter! Imagine yourself in a pool amidst precipice rocks, natural waterfalls and wild vegetation. Feel the soothing warmth of the water (37⁰C) taking the strain off your body, and let your eyes wander around the verdant gorge of the water streams! Sounds magic right?

With about 800 locations of natural curative resources, most of which are water-related, Greece could be described as a paradise of healing spas. In fact, no matter where in Greece you travel, you’ll come across thermal springs, often with only basic facilities but of course with fanatic grey-haired supporters as well; you shouldn’t hesitate to join these enthusiastic individuals in the ancient practice of hydrotherapy, meaning literally the therapy coming basically from water.

If, on the other hand, you are more interested in higher-end facilities, there are now a number of luxurious hydrotherapy resorts supplied by the same thermal springs that have long invited visitors to experience the healing aspect of Greece.

Here’s a list with some of the best natural springs that can be found in Greece!

And somehow like this, the “Winter Escapes in Greece” series comes to its end!

I hope you enjoyed my suggestions and that they can be a help to you while traveling to Greece in winter! More inspiring articles to come, so stay tuned! Have a nice evening and greetings from Greece!

Cheers!
