4) Meteora; the suspended in the air monastery

Meteora is among the most impressive regions in Greece, with huge rocks in the middle of a valley. Located on the northern side of the country, the rocks of Meteora are actually miracles of nature. Studies suggest that these rocks were formed 60 million years ago, when weathering and earthquakes gave them their present shape. What created this rare geological phenomenon is one of the mysteries of nature and there are many theories about it, that unfortunately have never been proven. But as amazing a marvel of nature is, just as miraculous and spectacular the view is from the top!
