Casa Rural As Chivas Pontevedra

As Chivas is an extensive farmhouse of the early twentieth century. It is located in a cultivated land of 5000 m2, completely delimited by walls of stone of the same time that the house, on which are 2 hórreos (jewels of the house).

It is distributed over 3 floors.

• On the ground floor you will find our TAPERÍA-RESTAURANTE with an exquisite cuisine of products of the garden and animals of own aging, homemade desserts, great variety of tapas and extensive wine list.

• On the second floor are the 5 rooms with independent entrance to the restaurant to enjoy greater privacy. All rooms have a large bathroom, TV, telephone and all amenities.

• In the third one is an independent apartment with capacity for up to eight people with kitchen, large living room, two double bedrooms, with telephone, TV, Dvd, balcony with mountain views.

• Outside has an orchard, garden, small farm, playground for children, large terrace for the restaurant, closed parking area.

• Annex to the main house there is a stone house available to the rooms with kitchen, living room, tv, internet, games for children, etc.

• Possibility of organizing events of all kinds, availability of clowns, puppets, workshops for children or whatever they propose.

• Services: Internet access, cot available, extra beds, bunk beds, wall-oven, breakfast included, lunch and dinner.

• Location: Asphalted and signposted, outside the town, close to the beach and the mountains.

We are in a small typical Galician neighborhood as few are, 1 km from the Portuguese road to Santiago.   IDEAL FOR ALL TYPES OF EVENTS Activities: We have many beaches to the open sea to less than 20 km, in addition to the natural park of Islas Cíes.

• Tui is 25 km and the Portuguese border 1 km from this town, with the beautiful fortress of Valença and the flea market to visit. The fair days are Wednesdays.

• Santiago de Compostela is 68 km, point of visit for those who want to enjoy a beautiful journey in time.

• As Chivas is 1 km from the Portuguese Way of St. James, between Redondela and Arcade.

• Trekking. Redondela is surrounded by the path of water. More than 20 km to 400 mt of altitude, plains and of trail, that go from the reservoir of Eiras to Vigo, following the same road that follows the water until arriving at the city Olívica. It is a quiet, flat and with a view of the whole region and the Ría de Vigo unbeatable. They will have to take the car to approach that path, because it does not pass next to the house.

Among the activities that can be made stand out the farming in our farm for whoever wishes. In addition to the possibility of hiking in the area there are others very close to long and short routes.

• Horseback riding is available at 10 km.

• In Redondela there are several outdoor tennis courts and indoor municipal swimming pool. It offers a wide cultural program throughout the year, taking in the fall-winter season, every weekend, theater in the hall, as well as several conferences without definite dates. Highlight the International Puppet Festival held in May, a whole week of various shows and most free (those of room have a symbolic price).

• The Corpus Christi Festival "FESTAS DA COCA", with the traditional forts, which adorn the streets and the spectacular dance of the swords, with the traditional music, costume and company of the Penlas Girls, who try a long show off your charms 2 days a year in the villa. According to the legend, the sailors dance this dance in thanks to the virgin for helping them to get rid of the dragon 'A Coca', which kidnapped the beautiful girls of the town making them disappear. Highlight the parade of the Coke or Dragon, to the delight of the children, as well as the parade of Giants and Cabezudos.

• "Mola to see santa coca perdín or demo of the mass - to see the holy coca I lost the demon of the mass". This celebration has traditional Mayas and coplas sung in the streets on May 1, maintaining an ancient tradition where wood structures are made for this occasion, welcoming the spring. In addition it was used to make the suit to which it deserved more in that year, a very traditional way to return the blows with humor and to spread with joy the misfortunes of others.

• Winter Carnival, with a large influx of people in disguise.

• Carnival of summer that is celebrated in the street the third weekend of August, with the collaboration of the Concello that facilitates some musical group.
