Peru

Located in South America, Peru is a country with a very rich history and biodiversity, as well as being a basin for many cultures that still coexist today....

From the highs of the Andes to the Amazon river, from the ocean coast to the jungle, Peru is a true gem that offers so much. Lima is Peru's capital, a lively city where the authentic Peruvian culture can be breath in every corner: a rich gastronomical tradition, terracotta pottery, textiles and musical instruments, as well as local drinks and customs are everywhere in the city. The locals will tell you the most magical stories about each of those... so take your time, it will be worth! Peru was also the heart of the Incas Empire, the largest in the pre-Columbus America, and it still offers many sites and places that witness such an ancient history such the famous citadel Machu Picchu or the city of Cusco. Nature is also speechless in Peru. The countless natural reserves are open to tourists and will offer a large flora and fauna biodiversity. Interesting enough, the more into the nature you get, the more cultures you encounter: local villages and towns are still to be found in the Andes, in the jungle and along the many rivers. More than 40 languages are officially recognized in Peru and most of them are spoken in these areas, even if Spanish is the most spoken one.
