Faroe Islands

"Sheep Islands" is the meaning of their name, and it was given to these islands by the Viking settlers arriving from Norway in the 9th century: yes, we are talking about the Faroe Islands....

Located halfway between Scotland and Iceland in the Atlantic ocean, the Faroe Islands are an archipelago of 18 islands mainly mountainous, with a population of 50,000. As many locals would say, the Faroe Islands are the essence of the "North" and the place to fall in love with the "North". \nThe Faroe Islands offer a great variety of experiences in nature – from dramatic landscapes meeting the wild ocean to the peacefulness of the mountains to the green pastures filled with sheep. Both the land and the ocean are the places to be: hiking, climbing, rafting, canoeing, camping, swimming, diving… if you are the adventurous type, this is the place to be. Red houses and mountain huts pop up here and there and they just add a perfect human touch to the islands’ wild nature.\nBeing on small islands far from the continent, will give you a feeling of freedom, of uniqueness and separation from the "rest of the world ".
