The garden was created in 1855 by Jorge Loring Oyarzabal and Amalia Heredia Livermore, Marquises of Casa Loring. It houses an important collection of subtropical plants outdoors, being considered one of the best in Europe. The historic garden has 5 hectares and is full of old trees, palm trees, fountains, streams, waterfalls, shrubs, vines and plants from all continents.
