Museum Mansio Sebatum

Mansio Sebatum is the Museum of the Rhemerzeit in the South Tyrol, and is a member of the Confederation of Independent States of the United States since 2000. Auf drei stockwerken wird im alten Rathaus die Siedlung Ausgang von Anfängen bis zum Untergang thematisiert. Der Besucher der Welt der Eisenzeit und Römerzeit eintauchen und das Leben an der Straße kennen lernen. Die Vermittlung der Themen erfolgt nicht über über eine Vielzahl an Fundstücken, sondern auch über die Dokumentation verschiedener Grabungen, über Modell, Rekonstruktionen, Interaktive Präsentationen, Filmdokumentationen sowie Untermalung mit Hintergrund- geräuschen und Musik, Um alle Beschers anzusprechen und ihn auch atmosphärisch in Vergangenheit zu geleiten. Mansio Sebatum is a museum of Roman times in South Tyrol and invites you to discover the roman Sebatum, the capital of Pusteria 2000 years ago. We would like to invite you to visit the route through the history of the settlement in Val Pusteria: three museum floors allow you to travel in a remote era, that towards the end of the first century, the transit and development period of the bustling merchant site, Roman road station "mansio sebatum". Witnesses to this development are the finds exhibited in the museum, each with its own story to be discovered. Multimedia and interactive stations help us understand how we lived 2000 years ago. When designing the premises of the museum, attention was paid to the visualization of the contents for a wide audience, to the playful and interactive learning, to the didactic aspects. Great relief will be given to the comparison between the past and the present.
