Aragatsotn province is located in the western part of the country....

The largest city of the province is Ashtarak. This region is mainly known for its ecotourism. Some lovers of extreme sensations go to that region to hike across the highest mountain of Armenia and its 4 peaks. The most touristic part of the region includes the Mount Aragats and Lake Kari, which is both a protected area and a wildlife sanctuary. If you are not into hiking, you can also visit the well-preserved ancient monasteries and medieval fortresses.
