Home to the astronomer and musician William Herschel and his sister Caroline. He discovered the planet Uranus from the garden in1781

Come and see Herschel’s original telescope workshop, admire the period musical instruments on display and walk in the Georgian garden. An award-winning film in the Star Vault takes you on a voyage of discovery through the universe, whilst the collection of globes, telescopes and astronomical equipment are all explained. Illustrated family trails are available from the shop. Georgian dolls’ house and handling objects. Our annual exhibitions showcase precious items on loan, whilst children can play with Space Lego or make rockets in our family workshops.
