The Residenza d'Epoca LE NUVOLE tell us a story forgotten for a long time and today finally rediscovered.
Lamba Doria Palace stands proudly in front of the church of S. Maria delle Vigne. The facade is decorated by seventeenth-century frescoes , by an unknown Genoese painter, which depicts six notables, probably belonging to the family that owned the palace.
Passing through the elegant lobby, you take the elevator and, at the 4th. floor, you enter directly in the Residenza d'Epoca LE NUVOLE.
Few steps on the left of the elevator you find an imposing marble portal dating from the sixteenth century. The portal features a frieze richly decorated with mythological figures and two putti holding a coat of arms.
Not far away is another of the treasures guarded by Lamba Doria Palace: the eighteenth-century chapel . A splendid fresco on the ceiling, dated at the end of of the eighteenth century, depicts the Ascension of Mary, supported by angels . The walls are richly decorated with stucco religious and floral motifs. The chapel has been restored to its former glory thanks to a minute and long lasting restoration led by the Superintendence for Architectural Heritage and Landscape of Liguria.
The entire floor has been restored carefully and using the same working methods and materials which were used in the past centuries. For example, in the rooms are still wooden shutters dating back to the eighteenth century, as well as stucco floral motifs and painted decorations refurbished to their original splendor that give a calm atmosphere of great charm and exclusiveness.
