Theater Mukamas is a Tampere-based professional theater theater set up in 1979, whose performances are mostly inspired by fairy tales. Dolls, Actors, Shadows, Live Music and Modern Puppy Theater Techniques combine fascinatingly with theater performances. Most of the software is aimed at children, but always between Theater Mukamas offers something special for adults.
The theater's idyllic home theater is located in Pispalala, Tampere, in the old VPK's house. The theater auditorium can accommodate 60 to 80 viewers at a time. There are about 250 exhibitors a year and some 30 000 spectators. In addition to the home theater, the theater will visit the kindergartens, schools, libraries, festivals and business events all over Finland.
International artistic cooperation is part of the action of the Theater Mukamas. Over the years, pilgrimages have been in the Czech Republic, Sweden, France and Russia. Theater Mukamas has also performed at the invited theater festivals in Europe and Asia.
The Mukamas Theater normally has 9 employees and, in addition, some of the employees are freelancers. Mansi Stycz has led the theater since its foundation. In 2003 he was awarded the State Prize for Children's Culture as a recognition of the multi-annual work for children's culture.
