Duna Wellness Hotel Baja

The Duna Wellness Hotel, built in the 1860s and completely renovated in 2014, is located in one of Europe's most beautiful main square. It is characterized by the adjacent branch of the Danube Sugovica. On the two floors there is a total of 18 four-star and 18 three-star rooms that can be chosen by guests arriving in the city. The location of the rooms, the equipment, the views are extremely varied. The 12, 30, 70, and 100 rooms are suitable for smaller conferences.

It is worthwhile to look back in time and recall the history of a formerly known hotel as a National Hotel. The building was built by Deutsch Ignácz between 1860 and 1970, partly in Art Nouveau style. From the windows, the restaurant and the terrace of the rooms, there is a wonderful view of the huge squared square, which is referred to as the St Mark's Square in Hungary, in the neoclassical, renaissance and romantic style buildings, and the gray granite cobbled pavement.

In the southern wing of the building was once a 300-seat theater hall, where on 9 April 1928 Béla Bartók performed a concert in front of more than 400 music lovers and musicians. In the next 40 years, the magnitudes of Hungarian music and theater have been on stage. Among other things, in 1963, he filmed the film "Pacsirta" with Klár Tolnay and Antal Páger, whose main role was given by Antal Páger in "Best Sharing Award" in Cannes. Nowadays the restaurant and the kitchen work in the theater hall.
