Kalimpa Színház

The Kalimpa Cultural Association was founded in 2008 at the initiative of Anna Medgyesi puppet show and drama teacher in Budapest. The association was formed by the collaboration of other artists and teachers, whose primary purpose is the unique initiative in Hungary: the connection between puppet theater and theatrical education (TIE). The first such complex puppetry TIE session was created under the title "Blue Bay" with the support and mentoring of the Cultural Workshop of the Cave in the framework of the "Start Shot" contest. During the course of 2009-10, we played in several kindergartens and schools in Budapest, and in May 2010 we also performed at the National Association of Theater Educational Associations in Gödöllő. Since the 2010/11 season, Anna Medgyesi has been contracted to the Griff Puppet Theater in Zalaegerszeg, so the members of the association have been presenting lectures independently since then, conducting drama pedagogical sessions and participating in various theater and puppetry works.
