Nuovo Albergo Roma

The history of the Albergo Roma is the history of the Borgo that hosts it. Because of its majestic grandeur and its enviable position, it was in the past the most important structure of Borgo Val di Taro and the architectural interventions that have characterized it are testimony to the evolution and economic growth that, over the years, has seen the transformation and modernization of the country.

Its construction dates back to 1923-26 and contributed, with its impressive and prestigious late Romanesque, to transform the town from a small town to the city center.

The desire to welcome the rich bourgeois families, who in the summer came from the cities recalled by the healthy mountain air and the uncontaminated nature of the place, combined with the desire to transform the aspect of mountain shelter into a modern structure gave rise, in 1937 , at the first considerable architectural intervention. With the raising of the building, the construction of a new floor and the inclusion of large and characteristic windows, the Albergo Roma acquires the current image, an image that still today fascinates the visitor.

It becomes, together with the Teatro Farnese, then transformed into the first cinema of the valley, and thanks to the historical and loving management of the Oemi Family (Gino and Alba, with their sons Bianca and Pier Giorgio), the center of the town's social life and the area surrounding, first agricultural, it turns into an urban area characterized by residential buildings, public parks (the Giardini IV Novembre and Giardini Elisabetta Farnese) and a school building.

Today the Albergo Roma has been the object of a careful and meticulous restoration work that has brought it back to its original splendor, the architectural elements of the structure have been consolidated, restored and renewed, inserting the accessories and systems required by the needs of more modern use.

The result is a refined and elegant structure able to offer a holiday full of cultural stimuli, in absolute tranquility, far from the chaos of the city but with all the comforts of the most modern technological services.
