Santana

Santana is a county/village in northern Madeira, located near many important hiking locations, like Pico do Areeiro, Pico Ruivo, Levada do Caldeirão Verde and Queimadas. Due to the fact that the county had been inaccessible for a long time by sea and by land, its inhabitants preserved characteristics that were not influenced from the outside. An example that comes from in the form of their typical houses known as "Casinhas de Santana". Besides what as already been mentioned, here you can also visit the Madeira Theme Park and the Rocha do Navio Nature Reserve.
