Teatro Moderno, Guadalajara

The first project of the Ateneo building and dates back to 1917. Modern will be in 1920 when the building permit is granted, however, it has to wait until 1943 to begin construction of the building. The Modern is conceived independently of the Ateneo, both being separated by an interior garden. In 1994, the then modern cinema, is renovated to house the current Modern Theatre. To this end, the stage is reconstructed, the clubhouse are created and the seats are replaced, with a capacity of 200 spectators. In October 1994, the Modern Theatre opens with Serva Padrona Opera.

In 2005 new reforms in which the stage is modified to suit the technical needs of theater groups are undertaken. In turn, the film projector to the Cinemascope technology adapts, and its sound becomes independent for the sake of a higher quality.

From 1994 to today it has gone through hundreds of the Modern Theatre troupes, bands, renowned actors in film and television.
