Untzi Museoa Museo Naval

The Untzi Museoa-Naval Museum, part of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Government institution, is located in the port of San Sebastián occupying the house-tower Consulate building mid-eighteenth century.

The Untzi Museoa-Naval Museum opened its doors in 1991 as a center to contribute to the preservation, study and dissemination of Basque history and maritime heritage. The Museum maintains these goals in its various areas: educational, research, publications, exhibition production, recovery and protection of maritime heritage.

In 2007 the Untzi Museoa-Naval Museum exhibition reoriented its approach moving from an approach of permanent exhibitions temporary exhibitions long haul. The two plants that were once destined to become permanent exhibition space for temporary exhibitions of long duration centered on single topics, chosen for its historical and cultural relevance. The upper floor houses exhibits smaller and educational workshops and specialized library open to all those interested in consulting their funds.
