The museum is located in the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, in the center of the village, on the northern slopes of Acrocorinth. Built in 1931-1932 on the initiative of the American School of Classical Studies, designed by architect W. Stuart Thompson, after the American donation Ada Small Moore. The 1950 Eastern wing of the museum was added. The collections include items from the continuous living and worshiping in Ancient Corinth area and selected sites of archaeological interest of Corinth, from prehistoric times to the Byzantine period. Today visitors can visit the halls with prehistoric and Roman antiquities, and the room dedicated to the sanctuary of Asclepius, with its unique collection of terracotta votive treatment. The patio also can admire a collection of Roman sculptures, architectural members and inscriptions in Greek and Latin script, and architectural elements from the Late Roman Jewish synagogue in Corinth. The room that houses classical antiquities is temporarily closed on the occasion of re-exposing, like the neighboring East Room under the NSRF 2007-2013, performed by the LZ Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, Corinth.
