Conero Golf Club

Opened in 1992, the Conero Golf Club is spread in the Conero Regional Park, in the municipality of Sirolo. Almost seventy hectares where brooms, strawberry trees, oak trees, tamarisk and cherry trees surround the 18-hole championship course and five in the executive field. The frame, unchanged and preserved over the centuries, is that offered by the extraordinary beauty of the Marche countryside, its softness, its colors, its products, the hospitality of its people. The beautiful historic center of Sirolo is rich in corners and unexpected sights and small alleys enclosed in medieval walls create a plot by the unique scenery.  Its beaches wind their way up to his Monte Conero with a sequence of environments among the most picturesque of the Adriatic coast.  The clear waters and beaches of rare beauty offer exciting welcome.  The Environmental League awards, the Touring Club, the acquisition of the Blue Flag of Europe Sirolo rank among the top places in Italy recognized for excellence in environmental protection naturale.La history of this village dates from around the year one thousand when, in the face of raids and barbarian and the need to defend themselves, Sirolo acquired its identity as a fortress, with a system of roads half-timbered, alleys and towers. To defend against the barbarians, the Sirolesi also built a series of underground tunnels that formed a veritable hidden city where people lived continuing to carry concealed trades. Sirolo was in the Middle Ages one of the most important meeting places of the Franciscan movement and of all those who wished monastic orders the return of the Church to the original spirit of the Gospel and that persecuted, fled to Sirolo and the Conero.  Fief of Cortesi accounts, in 1225 they gave the cities and all their castles to Ancona in enrollment change at Ancona nobility. Despite catastrophic natural events, the Sirolo Castle remained unconquered throughout the Middle Ages. The castle gave self-government statutes since 1465 and that freedom lasted until the end of the '600, which followed the papal domination. "La Perla dell 'Adriatico" is the nickname that was given to Sirolo, thanks to the several beaches that create a unique landscape in the Mediterranean, passing by wild coves and caves in the sand and rocks at the foot of Mount Conero.
