The Sailing Club of Heraklion has been active for more than 15 years in the field of water sports. With an organized effort that has begun since its inception, he has very quickly managed to broaden his horizons and today he can address a sport and entertainment offer to people of all ages, sexes, professions and financial statuses.

Focusing on children and as a sports club member of the Hellenic Sailing Federation, it has a remarkable triangle sailing racing team in the category of children's and adolescent sports, and claims worthy successes in regional and national championships, being the strongest sailing club in Crete and one of The strongest in the periphery of the Aegean islands. At the same time, it is constantly welcoming new athletes aged 7 years and over in their learning school.

By addressing adults who love travel, the sea and sport in the natural environment, it offers the opportunity to learn nautical art, sailors, rescue and meteorology, and everything else needed to travel safely on a sailing boat, Either as commanders or as crew members. This gives young sailors the opportunity not only to acquire the offshore diploma, but also to create knowledge, companionship and board conditions to participate in daily and multi-day excursions and offshore races organized by the group every year.

Along with all the above mentioned educational and athletic activities, the IOH rallies all its members with the organization of social and entertainment events, promoting teamwork and collaboration and social interaction, and thus constitutes a point of reference. At a time when the "hang out" is deserved by the older ones and is missing from the youngest, as a member of the IOH, one can find the place that will inspire him to create new friendships, enjoy the joy of team effort, appreciate the nature And ecology concepts completely inherent in sailing.   And all this at minimum cost and without having a privately owned boat!
