Museo de la Ciencia y el Agua

The Museum of Science and Water Murcia is part of the network of municipal museums in the city of Murcia. Opened in December 1996, it aims the encourage curiosity, bringing the public the scientific knowledge in a fun and participatory way, convinced that popular science contributes significantly to the democratization of society and how participation in decision decisions that can affect us in the future. The popularization of knowledge and scientific method is also an instrument of constructive criticism aimed at the personal daily behaviors as both social awareness against the abuse of natural resources of our planet. Taking part in the common goal of other national museums and the principles of "learn and have fun" or "learning by doing something", the Museum of Science and Water also has a strong holistic and interdisciplinary. Science is not addressed in a piecemeal way different subjects, but integrated into an issue, water, which is analyzed from all scientific fields. Throughout the years of operation it has become a living place, open to all proposals from either local initiatives, such as the University of Murcia, an institution with which they have co-produced blockbuster exhibitions, or While embarking on European projects, such as that led to the "archaic Europeans and Neanderthals" exhibition, produced by our museum and has toured European museums of great prestige. In short, our motto is participation from both the public in the museum, as the personal and institutional initiatives aimed at popularizing science.
