The journey begins in the first room, where you'll learn about Federico II's birth, which took place on December 26, 1194, in the square of the San Floriano Cathedral, where Palazzo Ghislieri now stands. The second room is dedicated to Federico II's family and dynasty, bringing his parents, Henry VI and Constance of Altavilla, as well as his grandparents, to life through miniatures and paintings.

As you move into the third room, you'll discover that Federico II became an orphan at the tender age of four and was subsequently protected by Pope Innocent III, who became his guardian. In 1215, Federico II was crowned King of Germany after marrying Constance of Aragon.

The fourth room tells the story of Federico II's reign as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Here, you can admire a reconstruction of the Romanesque Basilica of St. Peter, where the emperor and his wife Constance were crowned. The fifth room showcases the vibrant and culturally diverse Sicily of Federico II, with its unique Arab-Norman influences and architecture.

The museum is open from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 7 pm during the summer season (from June 15 to September 15). Admission is allowed every 15 minutes for groups of up to 16 visitors per room.

Tickets are priced at €6 for adults, with reduced rates of €4 available for children aged 6-25, seniors, groups of at least 15 people, teachers, school groups, FAI members, and more. Families can enjoy a special rate of €19 for two adults and two children.

To reach Museo Federico II, you can take the A14 Bologna-Taranto motorway and exit at Ancona Nord. From there, follow the Superstrada S.S. 76 towards Ancona-Rome and take the Jesi Centro exit. If you prefer to travel by train, the Jesi station is just a 10-minute walk from the historic center. The nearest airport is "R. Sanzio" of Falconara M., located 15 km away.
