The Municipal Museum of Penafiel, dependent on the Municipality of Penafiel, has, for over sixty years, a permanent structure, foundation of planning policy and management of cultural Municipality resources with an active role in the preservation and promotion of significant values movable, immovable and intangible heritage. Constituted since 1948, with the Library, the palace of Calvary Baron, it was due to the persistence of Abilio Miranda, its first Director.
