MUVIS Museo del Vino e delle Scienze Agroalimentari

The Wine Museum and Sciences in Castiglione in Teverina food and agriculture, is part of a vast territory stretching from the Tiber River and Lake Bolsena, in which runs the Road of the Wine Teverina. In this winery, Count Romolo Vasey (1898 - 1967) started since 1942, after it was bought by Count Luigi Vannicelli Casoni, a wine production quality. The wines in particular, next to sparkling wine, vermouth, vinegar, with the 'Orvieto and red table tasty and full-bodied, imposed successfully VASELLI brand in the domestic and foreign market until 1994, when the winery ceased all activity. Since then the local viticulture developed and was enriched with other wineries and other prestigious wines, renewing the glories of the Etruscan and Roman tradition, which so many traces left on our territory. Today the winery is MUSEUM: collects evidence and findings of our rural culture; work, traditions and devotions; village cultures and agricultural crops. Protagonist of the wine: in art, history, economy, in human relations. The MUVIS is also a container of a web of projects for integrated development of the territory and prototype of cultural economy with a European and international ambitions.
