Pannett House B&B is a grade 2 Victorian Townhouse, it has been run by the same family for over 30 years, we are been dedicated to retaining the character of the building whilst providing the modern facilities that the discerning guest expects.

The traditional town house property, built in 1860 was home to one of Whitby’s highest regarded benefactors Mr R E Pannett, why not visit the park and museum which bears his name and view the fine artwork that he bequeathed to the town, the house is a traditional Victorian townhouse with guest rooms situated on the first and second floors, the breakfast room is located at the front of the property on the ground floor.

We pride ourselves in offering good old fashioned, service, breakfast of the highest caliber and hospitality next to no one.

We offer breakfast in bed (prior arrangement) evening snacks, a selection of quality hot and cold beverages.

During World War 2 Pannett House was used as billets for soldiers on their way to the front, there is a tangible reminder in the family accommodation lounge in the form of a bullet hole in the plate glass window to the rear which has been in filled with lead, it is said a soldiers gun fired as he was cleaning it and shot straight though the glass without shattering it!!!!

There is now a sense of old meets new, which provides a relaxing and calming feel. The house boasts many original features such as the stunning tiled Victorian bathroom, which takes centre-stage, which we believe is the last surviving one in Whitby.

Whitby is undoubtedly a beautiful place to live and visit. To ensure further generations also have the opportunity to enjoy it, we endeavor to play our part in conserving the natural resources by actively participating in sustainable tourism. We have an Environmental Policy in all the guest welcome folders, so you can see what we do and also the part you can play whilst staying with us.

Pannett House is ideally situated on the West Cliff, a short 5 minute walk to the shops and attractions that Whitby has to offer. We have off-road parking for motorbikes. Practically everywhere within the North York moors can be reached within one hour's drive. Many fine scenic walks, both easy and more challenging, start from Whitby.
