Teatro Angelo Musco, located on number 312 of Via Umberto I, was the first seat of the Teatro Stabile di Catania. Designed by Leonardo Patane, it was opened in 1957 on a provincial Ente initiative for tourism, such as Academy of the theater. Starting from the following year was used as the first location for the shows of the body newborn Teatro di Sicilia, then Stabile in Catania.


The room, narrow and long, is oval type and originally contained just over 250 spectators. Despite its small size, it has hosted the season of the Stable for over a decade, until 1969 when it was opened the Teatro delle Muse, then Teatro Verga, which became the headquarters of the institution, intended to accommodate the majority of the programming.


The room continues to welcome entity theatrical productions Etna and not included in the main program or destined to the students: In 1972 it was destroyed by a fire which left intact only the walls. Promptly rebuilt. the new room was equipped with about 300 seats and thereby increase its capacity.
