For the last 10 years, Paul has been milling flour from organic grain specially grown for him by a farmer in South Lincolnshire (J Turner). The various types of flour produced by the Windmill is used by Fari to bake cakes, teacakes, scones, quiches … for the Tearoom. You can see what each flour is capable of doing, and also taste the goodies with a cup of tea/coffee whilst watching the sails gently turning around.
Paul and Fari run a small family business with help from their dedicated staff who live locally. They have been training and developing their staff since they started, and now have their own young miller Nikki, who over the last 4 years has mastered the art of milling and looking after the Windmill. Paul and Fari feel blessed with all their staff and helpers many of whom have been with them whilst studying at school to graduating from university.
Windmill's flour can be purchased at the little shop which is attached to the Tearoom. We also attend a few Farmers Markets each month, and sell to around 30 outlets within a 40 mile radius. If you know you’re coming over to see us, do call ahead and book a table. Our Tearoom is small and fills up fairly quickly. The site is home to Paul and Fari and they both have been working long hours throughout the years. If they look worn out, do tell them to sit down and have a cup of tea.
