Viekšnių vaistinės muziejus

In the center of the town of Viekšniai, once in the corner of the former Turga Square, a wooden house stands on the roof of the red tile. A white marble board mounted on its wall testifies that on the 30th of July, 1860, Viekšnų vaistinė was established here. Founders - XIX century Representatives of the Geldner dynasty, known prominent in Lithuania.

At that time, the pharmacy was flourishing, but Fiodor Geldner (Theodor von Goldner) supported the 1863 rebels, the situation has changed to the bad side. In the 1870s, after the death of F. Geldner, the out-patient pharmacy was sold out of auction. Vincentas Aleksandravičius, the new owner of the estate, again turned the model of practice not only as an exemplary institution, but also on the basis of student pharmacy practice. In talking with Dr. Antanas Birzyskis and other city intellectuals, V. Aleksandravičius in Viekšniai developed and supported certain cultural traditions and fostered Lithuanianship.
