Agriturismo Le Caldanelle Santa Chiara

Santa Chiara is a former convent of the '600, carefully restored and renovated, consists of a large building that houses three apartments as well as the owner of the dwelling. It is located on top of a hill just outside Siena (300 meters from Porta Romana and 15 minutes walk from Piazza del Campo where the famous Palio is run twice a year: July 2 and August 16). So close to the city, but at the same time immersed in a large green area where guests can relax in the shade of the trees and eat meals and snacks using large wooden tables and benches, swim in a large pool and enjoy a game of tennis on the private court. The property is set in a typical Tuscan landscape: on the one hand, the old city walls by pairing two of the ancient gates (Porta Pispini and Porta Romana); dall 'other, the olive grove and in the distance, the hills sloping out of sight to the south, in the direction of Monte Amiata.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a typically Sienese snack of fresh bread, Tuscan salami and extra virgin olive oil we produce. Our guests can visit the property, approximately 5 hectares, if they wish. If you are lucky, in the early morning, you can see deer, hares and pheasants. Leaving the pool to the right, it will come across an area with wooden chairs characteristics, a grove of pine trees and a giant old oak. You can also make a short detour that allows to enter in a public area, managed by the City of Siena, equipped for children and exercise.

The olive tree is the theme of the whole property: a large olive grove and an excellent quality extra virgin olive oil can be found in the apartments in the form of pieces of olive wood furniture and excellent cosmetic and bath products based on extracts of 'olive oil.
