Borde Hill is a beautiful Grade II* English Heritage listed garden set in 200 acres of parkland with magnificent views in the High Weald. Created by Colonel Stephenson Robert Clarke from seeds gathered by the great plant hunters of the early 1900's, it is renowned for its rare shrubs and trees. The Garden is set out as distinctive living ‘rooms’, each with its own unique style, from secret, sub-tropical dells to the sophisticated Rose and Italian gardens. An abundance of spring-flowers gives way to exuberant summer borders of roses and herbaceous plants followed by mellow autumn colour. Nestled at the heart of the 35-acre garden and woodland is the Elizabethan house, which is open to pre-booked groups. Events throughout the open season (April to October), include magnolia and rose tours, Sculpture Exhibition, musical Sundays in August and many family events. The café, garden tea house, restaurant, picnic areas and easy access in the formal garden for relaxing strolls make Borde Hill the perfect place for everyone to enjoy a great day out. New this year- Two new landscape features in the Garden Dells to entice visitors.
