Centro studi sull'emigrazione - Museo dell'Emigrante

The Emigrant Museum is located in the historic center of the Republic of San Marino, inside the former Monastery of Santa Chiara (Contrada Omerelli, 24). The Museum tells the story of emigration from San Marino, which involved thousands of men and women from San Marino and had similar characteristics - for motives, destinations, travel arrangements, crafts ... - to the Italian. In the rooms of the Museum, through photographs, original documents and objects, you can go over with emotion the experience of emigration. The Centre for Research on Emigration-Emigrant Museum was opened in 1997 and is also created by the will of the Consulta of San Marino citizens living abroad. The Emigrant Museum is a member dell'AEMI (Association European Migration Institutions) and is on the route of the Council of Europe "The heritage of migration."
